What kind of bra should YOU wear? We’ll tell you

Let’s face it, there are a LOT of options out there and if you’re anything like me, comfort is the single most important part of the bra buying purchase, next to the important job of listing those girls into the correct spot.  It doesn’t take a rocket scientist’s to figure out the great bra dilemma and it’s easy once you know how each bra style works and for what specific reason!  Let’s look at some of our most popular styles and if you have questions, schedule a fitting.  I personally guarantee that you will not regret it!

Bra styles explained:

1.  The T-Shirt bra

One of the most requested styles is the basic T-Shirt bra.  Many women love the t-shirt bra for its smooth cup design and the way it reduces nipple exposure and is flawless under a blouse.  This design is not usually fancy, but it generally serves its overall purpose and it’s definitely a favorite.

if you have breasts that have lost most of the volume or if you’ve got breasts that droop, or if you have breasts that vary in size, a t-shirt bra is probably not the best style for you.

2. The Cut & Sew bra (or lace style bra)

The cut & sew style is by far and wide my personal favorite!  For most women, especially those who have larger busts, this style will usually knock it out if the park!  This is also the style that a lot of women are afraid to give it a try, especially when women are used to the t-Shirt style.  Despite the reservations you might have, I’d encourage you to give it a go!  The best part of the cut and sew is that they’re usually full coverage, keeping the breasts inside the cup where they belong and you’ll have amazing lift, separation and forward projection. A cut and sew can also accommodate symmetry issues more easily and any sagging will be pulled into the cup, giving a fuller look to those post nursing breasts!

The only real downside is that there are typically a few small seams in the cup,  and for women that want that perfectly smooth look, you’ll be making a small compromise for the lift that you’ll get instead.  Trust me, the visibility of the lace is minimal and more noticeable when you look down than when someone is standing in front of you.  Still, some won’t love that and that is OK!

3.  The Plunge

A plunge is a great option for women who want to wear a low cut neckline and don’t want the bra to show.  In years past, the plunge style was best suited for the gals with small to average breasts, but many bra makers have extended this market into the curvier group of ladies and now the plunge is available to almost everyone and every size.  The plunge style is available in a smooth cup or lace style in most cases, but it’s simple design does the heavy lifting too and you’ll love the lift you get from this hard working style!

4.  The Wireless

im going to be completely honest here, wireless will never, ever do what a wired bra will do in terms of lift and separation, BUT it will be comfortable and if you’re truly ready to ditch the wired option for non wired, there are some really solid options out there!  A few of our store favorites include a couple really lovely styles, so don’t think all is lost.  Wireless might be the way to go, but please, hold onto at least one nice, well made wired option for those instances where non wired just won’t hold water.
